Two instructors from Eagle Eye Innovations (EEI) Ltd recently spent a week at XSun’s headquarters, at Pays de le Loire in France, learning to operate the unique SolarXOne Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS). The team from EEI are the first operators outside of XSun to receive such training.
The training consisted of technical classroom instruction and live flying on the SolarXOne. The platform is a fixed wing sub-25kg to 28kg system, depending on payload fit. Thanks to its wing-mounted solar panels, this extraordinary aircraft can have an endurance ranging from 3hrs to 12hrs depending on weather conditions, which is unique within its weight class.
As a national leader in RPAS Training, EEI are proud to have worked closely with XSun to be the first external entity to receive this unique program of training. Director of Business Development, Alex Kasperczyk, commented,
“The XSun Team are market leading in what they have achieved. The aircraft, and its supporting systems, are cutting edge yet simple to use. It’s exciting to see where this technology will develop next and the customers it will undoubtedly add value to.”
The SolarXOne is the first in an exciting roadmap for XSun, that has application across commercial and defence sectors globally. The CEO of XSun Benjamin David said:
“EEI’s unique skills make them the best possible partner for UK and international customers. The level of professionalism is excellent, and they were flying SolarXOne successfully from day 3 of the training. With our partner CANDY, we are now looking towards the future and are very excited to bring it to UK as early as possible”.
